President’s Welcome Letter
Dear Members, Sponsors, and Board Members,
Welcome to the 2023-2024 HAHIMA membership year!
I have served on the HAHIMA board for several years and I am honored to be taking the role as your incoming President for 2023-2024. I will be taking over this position from Britney Strickland who has served for the past 2 terms. Britney has done an excellent job as our leader, and we are proud to have her serving on the board as she moves into her new role as Past-President. As we move into our new membership year, we would like to give a special thanks to the 2022-2023 Board of Directors for their service, dedication, and leadership. We have had a successful and profitable year under their leadership and the incoming board will work hard to continue their work.
Looking ahead, we are aware that we may be facing some new challenges with regulations being passed down from AHIMA that will affect how regional and local HIM organizations operate. We faced the challenges of Covid, and together we overcame them. I am reminded of a few old sayings “Many hands make light work” and “A grand task is made easier by many hands shouldering the same burden”. This has definitely been my experience serving with the HAHIMA Board for several years.
I hope you will all take some time to visit our website, www.hahima.org, and learn more about our incoming 2023-2024 Board of Directors. I am excited to be working with this exceptional group of leaders in the upcoming year. Also, take the time to view the various resources that HAHIMA provides to our members, such as webinars, in-person meetings, scholarships, and exam fee reimbursement.
Thank you for allowing me to serve as your HAHIMA President. I am excited to serve our members and bring HAHIMA forward and upward. I encourage you to share any feedback and ideas that you may have. Please reach out to me or any of our Board of Directors during the year. We all want to work together in ways that we can better serve you, our members.
