Student Feedback
“HAHIMA has been an excellent opportunity to develop leadership skills and begin networking within the industry. I have learned valuable information about my upcoming career and what I will need to succeed. The relationships I developed through this group have improved my educational experience and I know they will be beneficial throughout my career.”
-April Alderete, San Jacinto College
“When I attended the last meeting before the pandemic, I was able to meet recent graduates that are in the field and gave me a few tips. The speakers gave great information and for being my first time attending I was excited to get all the information. I was able to see the recipients for the scholarship as well!”
-Nina Sanchez, San Jacinto College
“HAHIMA in my opinion is good for a student and professional. I wish I would have leaned on them more…using resources like these help during our educational and professional life. The board of directors are assets to HAHIMA members. They put on quarterly meetings to not only keep us informed but give us the opportunity to capture continuing education credits to keep up our credentials. It’s also a time when professionals in the workforce are able to engage with future professionals (students). No matter where you are in your journey being a member and sitting in on these meetings can benefit one. At most of the meetings, there are employment recruiting companies to educational institutions. As a student, you get hands-on experience working beside the experienced HAHIMA board members to help you on your journey to be the best you can be in our health profession.”
-Jennifer Sheffield, Parker University
