HAHIMA wants you to get involved! Volunteering in your local association is an excellent opportunity to network with other
HIM professionals in the Houston area. Volunteers are essential in building a strong association; one that provides optimal educational, networking, resources, and leadership opportunities for members. The Houston Area Health Information Management Association would like for you to suggest fellow members as possible candidates for the HAHIMA Board of Directors.
Primary responsibilities include overseeing the planning of the Association’s quarterly meetings. The President-Elect coordinates meeting locations, logistics and speakers. The President-Elect ensures that all Association communication is in accordance with HAHIMA organization messages and strategic directions. Candidates shall be an RHIA or RHIT and an active member in good standing with AHIMA and HAHIMA and representing the Association in local, state and national meetings as requested by the Association’s president. President-Elect serves a 3 year term.
The Vice-President will serve a 2 year term and is required to be an RHIA/RHIT and an active member of AHIMA and HAHIMA. The Vice-President serves as Chairman of the Public Relations Committee. Primary responsibilities include liaison for the website maintenance, student scholarships and develops an annual schedule of proposed webinars (speakers, topics, dates/times etc.).
