The Program Committee member assists with meeting logistics planning, including but not limited to securing a meeting location to fit the needs of the association, identify and coordinate activities with guest speakers and caterers, and communicate directly with meeting site associates. Member Relations CommitteeThis committee (Public Relations Committee?) works closely with the Vice President to ensure appropriate member relations with current and potential members, including but not limited to delivering ongoing communications through e-blasts, meeting notices, and special event invitations. This committee also supports the Vice President with continuous review of and updating the association’s website and further identifying ways to engage members and drive new members (including corporate sponsors and recruitment of guest speakers). Education Outreach CommitteeThis committee works closely with the Education Director to identify and ensure student needs are brought to the forefront. The Education Outreach Committee also identifies potential for events that drive membership and encourage growth to the association. The HAHIMA Board engages its committee members to learn roles of each board member with anticipation that committee members seek interest in serving as a board member one day. The Board meets weekends and evenings, sometimes by phone and others in-person. Committee members may be invited to attend meetings to learn more about functions and operations of the association.
