Call for Board Nominations
HAHIMA wants you to get involved! Volunteering in your local association is an excellent opportunity to network with other HIM professionals in the Houston area. Volunteers are essential in building a strong association; one that provides optimal educational, networking, resources, and leadership opportunities for members. The Houston Area Health Information Management Association would like for you to suggest fellow members as possible candidates for the HAHIMA Board of Directors.
Primary responsibilities include overseeing the planning of the Association’s quarterly meetings. The President-Elect coordinates meeting locations, logistics and speakers. The President-Elect ensures that all Association communication is in accordance with HAHIMA organization messages and strategic directions. Candidates shall be an RHIA or RHIT and an active member in good standing with AHIMA and HAHIMA, representing the Association in local, state and national meetings as requested by the Association’s president.
The Secretary will serve a 2 year term and is required to be an RHIA/RHIT and an active member of AHIMA and HAHIMA. The Secretary serves as Chairman of the Membership Committee. Primary responsibilities include recording minutes at board and quarterly meetings, liaison for the membership and reporting membership activities.
Primary responsibilities include serving as the liaison for all website maintenance, focusing on scholarship applications, quarterly meeting notices and job boards. The Vice-President serves as the Chairman of the Public Relations Committee and presides at meetings of the Executive Board in the absence of the President. Candidates shall be an RHIA or RHIT, an active member in good standing with AHIMA and HAHIMA, and support the Mission and Vision of the AHIMA and HAHIMA as adopted by the Association Board members and membership.
